Reckon Desktop POS: Configuring Cash Register

How do I configure a Cash Register for Reckon Desktop POS?

Answer

You'll need to configure them via the Control Panel on Windows.

For Windows 11:

  1. Open your Windows Start menu.
  2. Open your Control Panel.
  3. Under Hardware and Sound, select View Devices and Printers.
  4. Select Printers & scanners.
  5. Left-click on the Receipt printer, and select Printer properties.
    1. If you do not see your Receipt printer, please ensure it is plugged in properly, or has been configured to connect to your machine.
  6. Under General tab, click on Preferences
  7. Go to Paper/Quality from Media drop-down, choose when you want to open the Cash Register.
    1. This will be unique to your specific Cash Register. Queries around setup should go to the manufacturer of your Cash Register.
  8. Once you've set it up, click OK to save this settings
  9. Test printing a page by clicking Print Test Page and it should open the Cash Register, depending on what you've setup (i.e. before or after printing a sample print-out).

 

You can now use your Cash Register with Reckon Desktop POS.
