Tick in Red Circle in 2nd column of Split Transaction Screen

Legacy KB ID: 5180

Question

What is the red circle with a tick in the second column of the Split Transaction Screen on Reckon Accounts Personal Range?

Answer

The Tick indicates the item has been marked as tax-related in the Category setup and is linked to an Income Tax Line.

The Issue

When you choose a Category to be linked to a line in the Income Tax return, that item when used in the Split Transaction screen, will insert a tick in the second column.

To see items you have assigned to Income Tax Lines, on the top menu line click on Tax and select Tax Line Item Assignments to open the Category list where Tax Line Assignments is displayed.

To change Income Tax Line Assignment:

1.    Tax > Tax Line Item Assignment

2.    Right-click the Category and select Edit

3.    In the Tx section, tick or untick the box Tax-related

4.    Click the Form dropdown arrow and select the tax line to assign this item

5.    Leave the box Usual Tax Code (optional) blank

Home & Business users can assign a GST tax code to the item here if it is applicable.

Selecting a GST code only will not produce a tick in the Split Transaction screen

6.    Click OK to Save and Close.
