The memo column is empty when used in transaction reports showing splits

Question

I have customised my report to show a memo column. The report is showing the lines of my transactions but not the memo information. Why is this and how can I fix it?

Answer

The memo field you have chosen to enter your memos in is linked to the total transaction but not the split lines within the transaction.

  1. If you select customise and remove the tick (✓) next to the show split transactions, the memo should appear.
  2. This means, you do not receive the split information.
  3. If you wish to show a memo for a split line, you need to enter the memo at that level in the transaction.
