Recovery Wizard does not start a Payroll Premier that does not start normally

Legacy KB ID: 3637

Question

Why won’t the Payroll Premier Recovery Wizard start the session I can’t get started normally?  I get an error:

Reset Data Path.  Invalid or change path settings can be a cause of not being able to enter payroll premier.  If you answer “Yes” and you have a network setup, you may have to set up the network data path in Payroll Premier again.  Would you like to reset the data path?

When I click Yes nothing happens.

Answer

This is a problem that may be experienced on the multi-user version of Payroll Premier.  Our Development Team is investigating the issue.

Workaround

1.    In Windows Explorer, go to the network directory that contains the Payroll Premier company file;

2.    Find the file qcompany.tps and delete it.

3.    Launch Payroll Premier; you will be prompted to select a file to open.
