Unable to print from Reckon Accounts hosted NZ using Google Chrome.

Question

I’m unable to print my invoice/reports from my Reckon Accounts Hosted when using Chrome. I get a message saying ‘Processing Request’ but the prompt does not move any further. It does not print to PDF or to Printer.

Answer

Applies to:

Reckon accounts hosted NZ user in Google Chrome.

Solution:

Turn off the Download PDF file option from Content settings.

Some users are experiencing this issue where they are unable to print, and the print function is frozen in the processing request message.

We suspect the issue due to some incompatibility with a recent update on chrome or OS and does not affect entire user base.

Detailed steps:

1) Go to Customise and Control Google Chrome (vertical ellipses) icon At the top right of the Chrome and select Settings.

2) Scroll to the bottom and clickAdvanced.

3) Scroll down to Content settings and click on it.

4) Scroll down to PDF documents and click on it

5) Turn off ‘Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome’

6) Now go back to Reckon Hosted and try printing.
