Can no longer select Superannuation Trust of Australia Super Fund

Legacy KB ID: 4780

Question

Why can I no longer select Superannuation Trust of Australia super fund from the Super Fund list?  I have other employees that contribute to Superannuation Trust of Australia and their contributions are accepted and processed by SuperLink.

Answer

You will experience this issue if you have recently downloaded a Superfund list from the SuperLink website.  This list is updated from time to time with new funds added and redundant funds removed.  This list may also differ from the default superfund list contained within the Quickbooks installation.

Superannuation Trust of Australia changed its name to Australian Super a few years ago.  Product names and numbers have remained the same.

The default superfund list in the QuickBooks installation maintained Superannuation Trust of Australia but did not have Australian Super.  SuperLink however processes contributions to both funds and will continue to do so for some time yet.

From 17 December 2012 the superfund export file available on the SuperLink website contains Australian Super and not Superannuation Trust of Australia.  Existing employees with contributions to Superannuation Trust of Australia will continue to have their contributions processed.  However, you cannot assign Superannuation Trust of Australia to new employees.

You must use the correct legal name: Australian Super.

 Workaround

  1. Assign Australian Super to new employees who request Superannuation Trust of Australia.  Use the same Product Name and Product ID.
  2. You should also re-assign existing employees on Superannuation Trust of Australia to Australian Super.
