My A/R Ageing Detail report doesn't match my A/R Ageing Summary report.

Question

My A/R Ageing Detail report doesn't match my A/R Ageing Summary report and the A/P Ageing Detail report doesn't match the A/P Ageing Summary report. Why?

Answer

When your reporting Preferences are set to Cash Basis the A/R and A/P Ageing Detail reports will appear on a Cash Basis, but the A/R and A/P Ageing Summary reports will still be on an Accrual Basis.

To resolve this:

  1. Select Edit menu > Preferences.
  2. Click Reports & Graphs
  3. Click Company Preferences
  4. Under Default Reporting select the Accrual radio button and click OK.
  5. Open and memorize the two Ageing Detail reports.
  6. Change the Reports & Graphs preferences back to Cash
  7. Use the memorised Ageing Detail reports to compare to the Ageing Summary reports.
