Synchronization unsuccessful with Error/Reason: "The company file user has insufficient privileges."

Reference ID: RA-1732

For Insights to successfully synchronise data from a Reckon Accounts Hosted Company File, a dedicated User is created for the Company File with Full Access Role.

ISSUE

  • A “Reckon Insights synchronisation failed for data feed” email is received for your data feed
  • It gives the Error/Reason: The company file user has insufficient privileges.

SOLUTION

Option 1: Full Access Role was not assigned

  1. Open the Company File in Reckon Accounts Hosted
  2. Go to Company > Users > Set Up Users and Roles
  3. Find and select the dedicated Reckon Insights User then, click on Edit
  4. Select Full Access from the Available Roles pane and click on Add
  5. Then, click OK

Option 2: Default Full Access role was modified

If the default Full Access role was changed where some Access Level were set to Partial, then a new Role must be created that has Full Access Level.

  1. Open the Company File in Reckon Accounts Hosted
  2. Go to Company > Users > Set Up Users and Roles
  3. Click on the Role List tab and select New
  4. Enter a Role Name
  5. Then, set all Role Access to Full, for example:
    1. Select the Accounting role on the Area and Activities
    2. Then select Full on the Area Access Level
    3. Repeat for all the Area and Activities

  1. Click OK to save
  2. Assign the new Role as shown in Option 1
