Default Date for Statements does not change to selected option

Why does the State Date on the Statements Screen default to the last date used rather than today’s date specified in Preferences?

There is no facility in Accounts Business to set the default date for statements and it will use the last day of the last completed month.

The option for setting a default date in Edit > Preferences > General > My Preferences, relates to transactions only and not to statements.

Workaround

Change the Statement Date and the Statement Period for each Statements session.
