As each pay is created, QuickBooks takes longer to record the pay

Legacy KB ID: 1855

Question

Why does each pay I create become slower and slower when I am paying my "online" employees "today" for payday, which is also "today" ?

Answer

This is due to the time needed to recalculate "All" currently entered pays in addition to the new one when you are creating one single paycheque rather than individual cheques for your bank to process.

If this function is undesirable, you can change your preferences

In QuickBooks do the following;

  1. Open the "Edit" menu and choose "Preferences"
  2. Go the the "General" section
  3. Under the "My Preferences" TAB, go to the "Default Date to use for New transactions"
  4. Select the option to "Use Today's Date as Default" (This will change QuickBooks from making one single paycheque to making separate cheques for each individual employee)

This is a "Global" setting and will also affect dates on invoices, statements etc.

How did we do?

Incorrect display of unused credits

Tax Codes are not appearing in Reckon Accounts
