Tax Rego ID not retained on the Company Information page

Question

Why doesn’t Account Business (formerly QuickBooks) retain the Tax Rego ID (the business ABN number) on the Company Information Sheet?

Answer

You will experience this issue if you have the Default Tax Agency set to a supplier other than Australian Taxation Office.

Solution

1.    Edit > Preferences > Tax > Company Preferences;

2.    Under Default Tax Agency, click the dropdown arrow and select Australian Taxation Office;

3.    Click OK to complete.

Accounts Business should now retain the Tax Rego ID. 

Additional Information

There should be no reason to have the Default Tax Agency set at anything but the Australian Taxation Office.  You should review your usage of the Default Tax Agency throughout the file to ensure all taxes are being handled correctly.
