Question

Why can’t I restore my Reckon Accounts Business company file?  I keep getting the error:  “The file name you entered is too long or not a valid filename” when I select either local or online backup and before I select my company file.

Backup the sample file first then restore your company file again.

The issue

The path to the backup file has become corrupt.

Detailed Instructions

1.    Go to the No company Open screen and click on Open a Sample file and select the sample file;

2.    Create a backup and save to your Desktop;

a.    File> Save Copy or Backup > Backup copy;

b.    select your Desktop as the Destination and click Save.

You should now be able to restore your company file.
