Entering the Maturity Date for a Term Deposit in Reckon Accounts Personal

Legacy KB ID: 3910

Question

I have setup an Investment Account for my Term Deposit.  How do I enter the maturity date?

Answer

The maturity date of a Term Deposit in the Investing Centre can only be entered when the Term Deposit is setup through the Reckon Accounts personal Setup Process as a Security.

To setup the Term Deposit with a maturity date follow these steps:

1.    In the Investing Centre, click on the Today’s Data button;

2.    In the Investment & Retirement Accounts section, click on Add Account;

3.    Select Term Deposit and follow the prompts;

4.    On the What is the ending cash balance for this account? Screen, enter the starting date and the amount of the term deposit and then click Done;

5.    You will be presented with the option Do you want to setup a Term Deposit Security now?  Select Yes.

6.    Enter details for Name and Currency > select an Asset Class and enter the Maturity Date

7.    Click Done to finish.

8.    On Net Worth and Balance Sheet reports, your term deposit will appear under Investment Accounts.

Once setup, you cannot view the maturity date in the account’s configuration data.

The Investment Alerts section will show only Term Deposits maturing this calendar year.

You will be able to see the maturity date for Term Deposits by:

·         Investment Centre > Today’s Data > click on Options on Investment Alerts > select Setup Alerts

·         Click on the + box by Investing and uncheck the Maturity Date box

·         Maturity details of Term Deposits will appear in the table to the right

·         When finished viewing, check the Maturity Date box and click OK.
