Reckon Accounts Desktop: Runtime error when installing

Question

How do I resolve the following runtime errors, which occur after installing Reckon Accounts Desktop?

  • Runtime error -91
  • Runtime error -2147418105
  • Runtime error: 429 Active X component cannot create object
  • Runtime error ID = 1AD
  • Runtime error ID = 1CE

Answer

Runtime errors may be caused by incomplete registration of all Reckon Accounts Desktop files during program installation.

To resolve these messages:

  1. Restart your computer, then try to run Reckon Accounts as Administrator.
  2. If the message persists, go to the Reckon Accounts installation folder:
    1. C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 202X\
  3. Search for the file reboot.bat, and double-click to run it.
  4. If the message persists, install Reckon Accounts Desktop over the existing installation.
  5. If the issue is still unresolved, you may need to perform a clean uninstall and reinstall of Reckon Accounts Desktop. You can read how to do so here: https://help.reckon.com/article/20zsrgut0l
