How do I turn User Access Control on or off?

Answer

To turn UAC on or off:

Windows 7:

1.     Click on the Windows Start button and select Control Panel;

2.     Select User Accounts and then Change User Account Control Settings;

3.     Slide the control bar to min to turn off and max to turn on; click OK and close the Window.

Windows Vista:

1.     Click on the Windows Start button and select Control Panel;

2.     Select User Accounts and then Turn User Account Control Settings on or off;

3.     Tick or uncheck the box Use user Account Control (UAC) to help protect your   computer; click OK and close the Window.
