Unrecoverable error when logging onto Reckon Accounts Hosted

Legacy KB ID: 4863

Question

Why do I constantly get an unrecoverable error when I log onto Reckon Accounts Hosted?

Answer

An Unrecoverable error usually points to corruption in the datafile.  However, if you cannot open the company file you are unable to take steps to correct the problem.

Follow these steps to gain access to your file.

Step 1: Eliminate connection issues as the cause:

1.    Disconnect from Reckon Accounts Hosted and close your browser;

2.    Try to connect again.

Step 2:  Problem persists.

1. Once you login to Hosted and get to the dashboard, click on ‘Launch Accounts Hosted 2023 icon and hold down the Ctrl and Shift Key on Keyboard.

2. Reckon Accounts Hosted should now open to the No Company Open screen – if it crashes again go to Step 3;

3. Select your company file from the Menu line and not from the No Company Open window:

a. File > Open or Restore Company > Open a Company File > Next;

b. At the bottom of the Open a Company window, untick the box Open file in multi-user mode;

c. Select your company file; Click Open.

5. If you are using the multi-currency feature please check whether KB3551: https://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=3551 is applicable.

6. If Point 5 does not apply to you, Rebuild and Verify your company file;

7. Delete the *.ND file for this company file in your Q drive – see KB4109 https://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=4109 for detailed instructions.

Step 3: the issue continues

You will need to call Technical Support who will Investigate further on your specific issue.
