Why am I being asked to overwrite my existing portable company file backup in Reckon Accounts Hosted 20**?

Answer

Portable company files (.QBM) cannot be saved with the same file name as a previously created .QBM file. If you wish to preserve the previous copy of the portable company file (.QBM), please download it from the B: drive to your local PC prior to the creation of a new .QBM.

Alternatively, you can choose to create a regular backup copy of your company file (.QBB). Creating a backup using the .QBB option allows you to alter the file name of the backup copy prior to creation to differentiate it from previous backups.
