Adjusting printing alignments for pre-printed cheques in Reckon Accounts

Legacy KB ID: 4603

Question

Why doesn’t the printing align properly to my pre-printed cheque forms?

Answer

You can only print to pre-printed forms.

Reckon printing templates are configured to print to A4 sized paper.  You must ensure your printer’s page size default is set at A4.

Different printers manage printing to the page differently, so it is common that some printers will not by default align the contents of the cheque from Reckon Accounts precisely to the pre-printed cheque.  You'll need to use the Align feature in Reckon Accounts to precisely match the cheque content to the form.

Detailed Instructions to align content to the pre-printed cheque:

  1. Set your printer to A4 size paper (check your printer manual for instructions);
  2. On a blank sheet of paper, print out test sheets:
    1. File > Printer Setup > Cheque/Paycheque;
    2. Select your printer;
    3. Select the Voucher cheque style;
    4. Click Align and then Print Sample. Click OK to close the box;
    5. Select the Standard cheque style;
    6. Click Align and then Print Sample. Click OK to close the box.
  3. Overlay the test print over the pre-printed cheque forms and assess the amount of adjustment required;
  4. Repeat Point 2 and in Align, use the Up/Down arrows to adjust vertical alignment and the Left/Right arrows to adjust horizontal alignment.
  5. Click OK and OK to close all boxes.
