Reckon Accounts Desktop: Changing your Company File password

Legacy KB ID: 4639

Question

How do I change my Reckon Accounts company file password?

Answer

To change your Reckon Accounts company file password:

  1. Go to the Company drop-down at the top of the program.
  2. Select "Change your Password".
  3. Your username will appear in the Username box.
  4. Enter your Old Password (if you have one, if not, continue onto Step 5).
  5. Enter your New Password, and re-type it to confirm.
If you are the Admin of your company file, we recommend noting down your new password, as it cannot be changed by any other user if you forget. If you do forget, you will need to contact Data Recovery. You can reach out to them here: https://www.reckon.com/au/support/data-services/
  6. Click OK. Your password will be updated to use your new password the next time you're prompted to login.
