What is Reckon Payroll for Web?

Reckon Payroll for Web is a companion to the Reckon Payroll App, giving you the ease and speed of the web on your PC or laptop alongside the flexibility of mobile.

Perfect for small businesses, it makes it easy to add and manage employee information, process pay runs & email payslips to your employees. Take care of payroll compliance including PAYG tax, leave, entitlements, superannuation, Single Touch Payroll & JobKeeper, so you can stay on the ATO’s good side!

1. Create an account

Please skip to the Sign In step below if you're already fully setup and using the Payroll App.

If this is your first time using a Reckon Product, you'll need to create a new Reckon Account. Enter your name and email address and type a new password you'd like to use for the account. We'd recommend where possible using a professional rather than a personal email account - Ideally the same you have or would like to ATO to have on record for your business.

  1. Open up Reckon Payroll via portal.reckon.com on your laptop or desktop browser.
  2. Click Register for free at the bottom of the options, or Create Account on the top right of the screen

This is the email address which you will use to login.

Your password must have minimum 8 characters with an upper case, a lower case, a numeric and a special character.

If you're certain you've got an account with Reckon, but have had no luck with password recovery or just can't remember, give us a call - we're happy to lend you a hand.

4. Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)

What is MFA?

MFA stands for Multi-factor authentication. We send a code via SMS to your phone to make it's really you.

The use of MFA to secure your data is a requirement of the ATO for us to securely store and send your Single touch payroll data. Plus, it's a nice extra piece of mind to make sure your important data is safe and sound. To keep your account protected, we'll ask you to re-enter a new MFA code every time you login on the web.

Didn't get a code?
Sometimes there might be a bit of a delay receiving your code for MFA.
If haven't received a SMS after a minute or two, please try clicking on Resend code.

Steps

  1. First enter in your mobile phone number then click Continue.
  2. You'll receive an SMS momentarily containing a 6-digit number. Simply type in the number.

5. Set up your company

There are 3 simple steps to set up up your company.

Steps

  1. Enter your company name or ABN then hit Enter to search. A list of company will appear in the search results. Select your company from the list then click Continue.
If you are searching for an ABN, an ABN has 11 digits. You may need to verify and re-enter the search text.
  2. Verify that the selected company details are correct then enter a branch number. If you don't have a branch number, we suggest entering '001' (and then sequentially ascending for more books that you add, e.g. '002', '003'). Confirm by entering the last 3 digits of the ABN then click Continue.
Click Choose a different ABN if you have selected the incorrect company.
  3. Enter a book name. Your business entity is represented by a 'Book' in Reckon. Give it an easy to remember name. Select your financial year start then click Complete company setup to finish the set up.

6. Sign out

Steps

  1. Click on the cog icon in the top-right hand corner of the screen.
  2. Select the Sign out option from the list.
