Checkmark and/or asterisk mark for Cleared transactions are not exporting correctly in Reckon Accounts Hosted

About

REFERENCE: RH-3699

In Reports or Accounts register, there is a column to mark transactions as cleared for reconciliation.

  1. A checkmark (✔) means that you marked the transaction as cleared when you reconciled the account with your bank statement.
  2. An asterisk (*) means that you marked the transaction as cleared, but you did not finish reconciling the account with your bank statement.

Issue

This issue is still being investigated and may be fixed in future releases.

When exporting reports with the Cleared column as a spreadsheet:

  1. The checkmark appears as #NAME? when compared to the CSV version. The Font Family used is Symbol.
  2. Asterisks are not appearing at all when compared to the CSV version.

Workaround

To only update reconciled transactions

If you wanted to keep the report formatting and update the exported report with just the reconciled accounts:

  1. In the spreadsheet, open the 'Find and Replace' window (CTRL+F > Replace tab or navigate to Home > Editing > Find & Select > Replace)
  2. Set the following:
    1. Find what: =@Ö
    2. Replace with: Ö

  3. Click on Replace All
  4. This will update all the cells to display ✔.

Include all cleared transactions

If you wanted to keep the report formatting and update the exported report all the cleared transactions that are marked regardless if reconciled or not:

  1. Export and open a CSV copy of the report
  2. Highlight the entire Cleared column, then, right-click and Copy

  1. Open the spreadsheet copy of the report
  2. Highlight the entire Cleared column, then, right-click and Paste
The updated column may need to be formatted to be uniform with the others. Users can use Paste Formatting option.
