Changes with Email Integration Options in Reckon Accounts (Desktop)

Starting with the June 2025 release of Reckon Accounts, the only supported email provider will be Outlook (Classic) for Desktop.

This will provide two options for the email provider:

  1. Outlook (Classic)

  1. Outlook V2 (Classic)

Reckon Accounts Desktop lets users email forms like invoices by integrating with different email clients. However, updates or new authentication methods from email providers can disrupt this functionality. This has been especially problematic with recent changes in Gmail and Outlook/Hotmail, which now use OAuth authentication that Reckon Accounts Desktop does not support.

Previously, there were six options in setting up Custom Email Setting for Reckon Accounts Business Range:

  1. Outlook
  2. Gmail
  3. Hotmail/Outlook.com
  4. Yahoo
  5. Other
  6. Outlook V2 — resolves some issues/errors encountered with the original Outlook setting, including the capability to use HTML tags.
