Accounts Business hangs when creating a POS database file

Question

I’m creating a new POS database file and when POS accesses Accounts Business for data, Accounts Business hangs on 10% loading data.  The POS database is created properly but Accounts Business continues to hang.  Why?

Answer

Go to the Task Manager > Application and end the Accounts Business task.

 

The Issue

This problem occurs when the Accounts Business company file was last closed with the Home Page as the active screen, and when this opening of Accounts Business is the first since the PC was rebooted. 

When POS requests data, Accounts Business returns a positive response immmediately to allow POS to continue with its access of data, even though the datafile is not fully opened yet.  Accounts Business now stalls and the loading data freezes on 10%. 

You now cannot launch Accounts Business as it is still in progress on a hung session.

  

Workaround

Close Accounts Business in the Task Manager > Application by highlighting the Accounts Business process and clicking on End Task.
