Question

Unable to print from Retail Point of Sale after a new installation of the Obvious ORP-800 receipt printer

Answer

It is advised that the Obvious ORP-800 should only be connected to your PC after the installation of Retail Point of Sale, ensuring that when Windows auto detects the USB Com board in the printer it is able to install the driver correctly and install the Virtual Com Port correctly, if the steps are not followed correctly from the 'Important Notice to Upgraders manual' the Obvious ORP-800 printer will not print when prompted to do so from Retail Point of Sale.

· Ensure that the printer is unplugged from the PC

· Select Start

· Select Control Panel

· Double Click System

· Select Hardware

· Select Device Manager

· Open the 'Ports' selection window

· Locate the Com Port marked with a Yellow question mark

· Right Click this icon and Select Uninstall

· Restart the PC (ensure that Retail Point of Sale is Installed on your PC first)

After the restart attach the Obvious ORP-800 and wait for Windows to Auto detect the to find the Obvious ORP-800 USB Device, then follow the Installation instructions from the 'Important Notice to Upgraders manual.'
