Hosted API - 26 Feb 2019

We're excited to inform you that an updated version of Reckon Accounts Hosted API was released on 26th February 2019 and you might have started noticing the performance improvements already.

The latest update includes the below enhancements:

  • Revamped Hosted API infrastructure (backend): Increased stability and performance improvements
  • Rapid API Sessions: The Reckon Accounts hosted API has a significant performance cost when initiating a connection to a data file.  Up until now, this performance cost occurred with every API Call.  Now an implicit API Session for a particular file path will persist for a short time after each successful execution.  This means that subsequent calls that are made within seconds of the previous call completing will be processed without the initial session start performance cost.
  • Hosted API now supports iterators: Iterator calls need to be made within the same API Session.  So subsequent iterator calls must be made within  seconds after receiving the last iterator response.  Iterators are closed and associated data lost when the API Sessions closes. Click here to learn how Iterators work with Reckon Accounts.
