Why can't I print directly to my printer when using Reckon Accounts Hosted in Firefox?

Question

When I try to print anything from Reckon Accounts Hosted in Firefox eg. invoices, I receive a prompt to open or save the PDF file instead of just printing the document.

How do I get the document to print?

Answer

This is a browser setting and can be solved by adjusting Firefox's page settings for PDF files.

DETAILED STEPS

  1. Click on the browser Menu button in the top right corner

  1. Select 'Options' in the dropdown list
  2. Select the 'General' option (if not already selected) and scroll down to 'Applications'
  3. Find Portable Document Format (PDF) in the 'Content Type' list and change the 'Action' to Preview in Firefox


  1. Print your desired document from Reckon Accounts Hosted again. The document will now open in another browser tab immediately and prompt you to select a printer and print.
  2. Press OK to print.
