Question

Why when I upgrade my Quicken Personal or Personal Plus file from 2002, 2002 SE or 2004 to Quicken 2007, I experience a loss of Split Data Information?

Answer

We have recently found that data files from Personal and Personal Plus 2002, 2002SE and 2004 do not retain split transactions details when they are upgraded directly into Personal or Personal Plus 2007.

Any data files that have been upgraded from these versions need to be upgraded to Quicken Personal Plus 2006 trial version first before they can be upgraded to Quicken 2007 as per the steps outlined below:

1- Uninstall Quicken 2007 from the Add/Remove programs under Control Panel.

2- Download and Install Quicken 2006 trial version from the following address https://www.quicken.com.au/PersonalFinance/PersonalPlus/trial06.aspx .

IMPORTANT NOTE - Please take note of the installation key code that is provided on the Quicken website and the login details provided so you can register the trial version of Quicken 2006

3- Upgrade the original version files to Quicken Personal Plus 2006 trial, you may need to restore the backup that was made before upgrading the data file to Quicken 2007, if you do not have a backup of your original file you can try and use the backup made by Quicken 2007 upgrade process, this is located under UpgBkup folder that is part of Quicken 2007 installation folder.

4- Uninstall Quicken 2006 trial from the Add/Remove programs under control panel.

5. Reinstall Quicken 2007.

6- Upgrade the date file from step 3 again to Quicken 2007.
