My dates are in American format or my currency is Pounds

Why do my dates appear in American format or my currency symbol appear as the pound symbol?

Answer

The problem lies in your device system settings. Go to Settings, Control Panel , and select Regional Settings. Make sure that the regional settings are English(Australian). Now all dates and amounts should appear correctly.
