Termination Wizard does not recognise accumulated Long Service Leave

Legacy KB ID: 4801

Question

Why doesn’t Payroll Premier’s Termination Wizard pick up the accumulated Long Service Leave in the employee’s record?

Answer

You will experience this problem if at the time the Termination wizard is run, the Accrual Rate for Long Service Leave is set to 0.0000.

For the Termination Wizard to access the Hrs Accued field the Accrue Hrs field of Accrual Details must not be 0.0000

Workaround

1.    Manually verify that the Hrs Accrued amount is correct

a.    Obtain the Long Service Leave entitlement for the employee (eg: 8wks after 10yrs service) from your Accountant or Industry Association;

b.    Calculate the entitlement based on the length of service;

c.    Subtract any Long Service Leave already taken.

2.    Enter a number for Accrue Hrs – eg: 0.0001;

3.    Launch the Termination Wizard and complete the termination.

You should check that all employees have the correct Accrue Hrs entered on their records.
