RPC Server unavailable when posting from POS to Reckon Accounts

Question

Why do I get the error: “RPC Server unavailable” when posting end of day transactions to my Reckon Accounts company file when there is no issue of the POS terminals communication with the POS Admin?

Answer

Create a new POS database file. 

 

The Issue

The posting process encountered a communication issue, but the source of the problem is indeterminate.  Tests on the components suggest that all components are free of error and operating as intended. 

 

Detailed Instructions

  1. Check that there are no errors in the company file – Rebuild and Verify your file.
  2. Check that there are no errors in the POS Database file – Compact and Repair the file.
  3. Open your Company file and attempt to post again. 
  4. If the problem persists, create a new POS database file.
