Reckon Desktop POS: Specialized Product button crashes POS when clicked

Question

Why does Retail POS crash whenever I use a specialised product button.

Answer

Accounts Business Enterprise users may experience this problem.

Enterprise allows users to have large Items Lists (theoretically unlimited).

However, Reckon Desktop POS has Product List limit of 50,000 products.

When the specialised Product Buttons for individual product items is clicked, it will cause Reckon Desktop POS to crash.

You may get an error that the POS database file could not be found, and, out of memory.

The reason for this issue is due to the product being unable to store more than 50,000 items in the product list internally.

The only way to amend this is to remove items from Reckon Accounts, transfer over the updated item list.

How did we do?

Latest transfer from QuickBooks, or transactions from other terminals, do not show on some terminals

Attempting a Post or Transfer from QuickPOS they will get an Error code 15 – Could not open specified data file
