Error – 13 type mismatch when clicking the price button in the POS Admin Product List screen
Legacy KB ID: 4515
Question
When I try to change prices in the POS Admin Product List, why does POS Admin crash when I click on the Prices button?
Answer
You will get this error when a registry key that contains information relating to past price changes has been corrupted.
Workaround
- Close Retail POS Admin.
- Open the Registry Editor:
- Windows 7 & Vista: Start button > type regedit into the search box > Enter
- Windows XP: Start button > Run > type regedt32 > Enter
If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. - Create a backup of the Registry:
- On the top menu line, click on File >Export
- Select a location to save the file and in the File Name box enter a name
- In the Export Range section, click on All
- Click Save.
- Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > VB and VBA Program Settings > QuickBooks Point of Sale Administrator > PriceChange
- In the right-hand pane you will notice that there is no entry called Adjust Amount. You will need to create it:
- Right-click the white background of the right pane and select New, then String Value
- Right click the new entry called New Value #1 and select Rename
- Enter AdjustAmount as the new name
- Right click Adjust Amount and select Modify
- Enter 0.00 into the Value data field and click OK
- Close the Registry
