Cannot create SuperStream export file when new employees added in Payroll Premier

Legacy KB ID: 5376

Question

Why can’t I create a SuperStream export file when I add new employees?  The Export Super Data screen correctly posts NO to the Valid for Export field for the new employee not receiving any super contribution, as well as to some other employees receiving a super contribution.

Answer

Add superfund details to all employee records, regardless of whtehr they are due to receive super guarantee payments.

The Issue

This error is likely to occur when you add a new employee to Payroll Premier, and you do not enter super fund details to his record because he is not entitled to receive a Super contribution.

In the Export super data screen, the new employee is correctly tagged as not valid for export, but the system-assigned employee number is now listed as the same as a previous employee.  That established employee also acquires the tag not valid for export even though a super contribution amount is listed, as the system cannot process 2 sets of information for the one employee number.

Workaround

  1. Add superfund details to all employees regardless of whether they are entitled to receive a super guarantee payment.

  2. Include the Statutory Super item to the employee’s record and let the system determine that the employee is not eligible for a super contribution.
