Why do I get an error message "Cannot restore to A drive when restoring from floppy"?

Question

When trying to restore a backup from a floppy to the Quicken folder, the program may try to restore to the floppy instead. User cannot change the destination of restore manually.

Answer

Click File -> New and Create a new file in your Quicken folder with exactly the same name as the backup on the disc.

You do not need to create an account

Click File -> Restore Backup File... and restore the file

Click Yes when it asks if you want to overwrite the existing file.

It will restore the backup from the floppy into the Quicken folder overwriting the created blank file
