Some of my transactions don't report to the tax reports even though a tax code is selected.

Legacy KB ID: 3066

Question

I have transactions in my CashBook file that are not appearing on my Tax Reports even though they have a Tax Code and a Category selected on the Split line, why?

Answer

If the tax amount isn't going through to the tax reports even though the split line that has tax on it has a category selected, it means that at some stage there was an account selected on this split line.

If you save a transaction with an account selected on a split line and later edit the transaction to change the account to a category, the tax still won't appear on the Tax Reports.

To fix a transaction that this has happened to.

1) Open the Split Transaction Window.

2) Select the split line which is not reporting correctly and press 'Ctrl' + 'D' on the keyboard.

The information on that line will be deleted and the line will become blank.

3) Re-enter the information on the blank line.

4) Click 'Ok' to save changes.
