Solution:

If you are connecting a receipt printer to the serial printer output port of a customer (pole) display, the baud rate of the receipt printer will likely need to be set to match the baud rate of the customer display. As of Point of Sale 2018, all serial port customer displays supported by Point of Sale use a baud rate of 9600. The receipt printers listed above, and many new receipt printers, come with a default baud rate different to 9600. To set your receipt printer to a baud rate of 9600, you generally need to:

· Get hold of the user manual for the receipt printer. This can usually be found on the manufacturer’s website or on a CD that came with the printer.

· Turn the power to the printer off

· remove a metal panel on the underneath of the printer

· set the DIP switches to 9600 baud as per the user manual

· replace the panel, turn printer right-side up and turn on

In Point of Sale Terminal > Options > Receipt Printer tab, make sure the Connected To selection is set to Printer Port on Customer Display

Note: The Citizen iDP460 and Keycorp/PeriPheron Receipt Master 2000 receipt printers have different parity and number of bits in the serial connection parameters to most customer displays and so may not work through a customer display even though they have the same baud rate.

The Wincor Nixdorf BA63 customer display has different parity and number of bits in the serial connection parameters to all printers supported by Point of Sale and so receipt printers may not work when connected through this customer display.
