Why do I recieve an error, runtime error 35600, when clicking on options in POS Admin?

Question

I click on the Options button in QuickPOS Administrator. Why do I get POS Admin Options error message "runtime error 35600, Index out of bounds?" This is followed by a message about the Windows Messaging system failed, which closes QuickPOS Administrator. I then have to reboot my computer to be able to open QuickPOS Administrator.

Answer

You have most likely deleted the default website of POS Admin (Options/Web tab/Web Sites).

Solution:


NOTE: If the customer has layby's they must make a note of the customers details and their outstanding balances before following these instructions.  These accounts will need to be re-entered in the QuickPOS database.

  1. Restore from a previous backup of the POS PDB file (hopefully from the last time POS PDB was compacted. It will be called QuickPOS Backup.pdb). Delete the current QuickPOS.pdb or rename it, then rename the backup to QuickPOS.pdb and make sure it is in the same folder as the one you just deleted/renamed.

OR

  1. Delete the pdb then open QuickPOS Admin and follow the instructions to make a new one.
