Tag Report includes Tax Control Transaction

Question

Why does my Tag Report show the Tax control Transaction as well as the original net transaction?  It was reported correctly earlier.

Answer

You will experience this problem when you enter a subsequent transaction to the same payee with the same amount to another tag from a memorised transaction to the former tag.  The subsequent transaction will appear correctly on the Tag Report, but the transaction to the former tag will now appear with the Tax Control entry on its Tag Report. 

Workaround

Do not use an existing memorised transaction for one tag to enter a transaction to another tag.  Enter the transaction from a blank form.
