How to view the QBWin.log file in Reckon Accounts Hosted

Question

How do I view the QBWin.log (known as verify_rebuild_data.log) file in Reckon Accounts Hosted?

Answer

Reckon Accounts Hosted allows you to view the file maintenance log file known as verify_rebuild_data.log which is equivalent to the QBWin.log on the desktop based Reckon Accounts software.

The file is located in Q:\log folder and is named verify_rebuild_data.log

On each restart of Reckon Accounts Hosted and new log file will be created. 

The current one will always be named verify_rebuild_data.log and older ones will be renamed with .old1, .old2 etc. added to the file name. 

A total of 6 files are maintained.

 

To view this file:

  1. Click the download icon from the floating toolbar (the red briefcase icon)
  2. Browse to Q:> Log
  3. Select the file verify_rebuild_data.log and click on Open.  It will download to your local PC.
  4. Select Open (with Notepad) to see the contents of the file. 
  5. Consider also downloading the other log files as they may show the results of previous Verify or Rebuild Data operations. If sending them to a Technician for review, send all 6 files.
