Reckon Accounts: "Error on Cached Wizard Page" when activating the software

Question

Why do I get the message "Error on Cached Wizard Page" when trying to activate Reckon Accounts?

Answer

This can happen due to a file permission issue, do the following to correct this:

  1. Locate your QuickBooks installation directory normally found im C:\Program Files\Inuit\"your Quickbooks version"\
  2. Inside this directory locate the file called ACTWZD.html.
  3. Right click on the "ACTWZD.html" file and select "properties" and un-tick "read only" then click "OK"
  4. This will allow the browser to load allowing you to activate you product.
