Program Message: "This file did not record the previous transaction.Rolling back to previous transaction" on opening QuickBooks

Question

Why do I get the message 'This file did not record the previous transaction. Rolling back to previous transaction' when I open QuickBooks?

Answer

This is a form of data corruption.

To remedy this issue do one of the following:

1. Restore a most recent backup and re enter any data they may have been lost.

or

2. Contact the Quicken Data Recovery Team via the Quicken website to find out if the data file may be repaired.

How did we do?

QuickBooks Small Business cannot create budgets based on actual previous years data.

The 'Audit Company File' and 'Company Information' screens are reporting incorrect file information.
