Stock / Share Price Problems and Errors with No Status Message or share prices not updating.

Legacy KB ID: 3138

Question

I have recently upgraded my Reckon Accounts Personal program, but my stock prices aren't updating. How can I resolve this?

Answer

RA Personal now includes new features for tracking your investments from different exchanges (Australia, NZ and US). If you have upgraded from a previous version, the exchange and asset class for each security will not be set and may impact upon downloading your stock prices. You must specify the asset class and exchange for each security once you have upgraded to the current RA Personal program.

Select the Security List from the Investment menu. This will display all the securities setup part of the data file.

  1. From the top right, click on the Options button and choose View hidden securities.
  2. NOTE! YOU MUST DO THE FOLLOWING PROCESS TO EVERY SECURITY LISTED.

Highlight each security and select the Edit button from the menu.

  1. Choose the appropriate Exchange and Asset Class for the security as required.
  2. Click on the Other Info button.
  3. Click OK on the Additional Security Information window
  4. Click Ok on the Edit Security Details window.
  5. If the Symbol Change Affects Price History window appears; click on the Default button.
  6. To hide the hidden securities again; click on the Options button and untick View hidden securities
  7. Once you have done this to each security you should attempt the download again.

Please note that this applies to files upgraded from the RA Personal 2004 range and below.
