Including Pays information in BAS when not using the Accounts Business Payroll function.

Legacy KB ID: 3641

Question

I do not use the Accounts Business (formerly QuickBooks) payroll function to record my payroll, so how do I get my figures into W1 on the BAS form?

Answer

If you don't use the Payroll Feature in Accounts Business but still need to enter a figure at W1 when completing the BAS you can follow one of these workarounds:

Workaround 1

1. Open the Taxes & Amounts Withheld section of the BAS;
2. Select Option 2 in the Pay As You Go Instalment section;
3. Click the T1 field, select the Profit & Loss accounts that should effect W1 and click OK;      an amount will appear in the T1 field;
4. Manually enter this figure into the W1 field;
5. Change the Pay As You Go Instalment back to Option 1 or deselect the accounts in T1

Workaround 2:  using a memorized report

1. Click Reports > Custom Transaction Detail Report
2. Select 'Last Tax Quarter' as the Date Range
3. Click Filters and for the Account filter select Multiple Accounts
4. Select each account that needs to be reported at W1 and click OK
5. Click OK to generate the report
6. The total figure that appears in the Balance Column is the amount that needs to be reported at W1;
7) Click the Memorise Button;
8) Give the report a relevant name such as 'BAS - W1';
7) Run the report via the Memorised Report list each time you need to process a BAS and manually enter the figure in the W1 field.

How did we do?

The BAS report does not always include transactions on the 29th February.

IE has modified this page to help prevent cross-site scripting when uploading BAS
