Install Shield Engine could not be installed error when installing a QuickBooks bridging version

Question

I am upgrading my company file from an older version, and I am required to install a bridging version (from the Upgrade Resources CD). 

During the installation I get the error: “The Install Shield Engine could not be installed” and I cannot proceed.  What do I do?

Answer

Workaround

1.    Delete all files in your C:\Temp folder.

2.    Go to the Upgrade Resources Disk, select the folder for your bridging version and click on setup.exe.

Reckon Accounts bridging version will now install.

 

Additional Note

To install Reckon Accounts, the user must be an Admin User on this PC.
