Beginning transaction number not changing in POS

Question

Why doesn't my beginning transaction number change in POS?

Answer

To set QuickPOS terminal to begin at a particular transaction number;
1) Select Tools > Options > General.
2) Enter the transaction number you wish to start with in the 'Start Transaction Number' field.
3) Process a dummy transaction.
4) Create an End of Day file. During the process of creating the end of day file select the option 'Reset the Transaction Number' under 'Reset Sales Information'.


 


Your next transaction will now be the number you entered in the 'Start Transaction Number' field.



Make sure that when you do your next End of Day that the 'Reset the Transaction Number' under 'Reset Sales Information' is no longer ticked as if it remains ticked it will always start from the number you entered into the options.
