Crash: COM Error when working with a Balance Sheet report on Reckon Accounts Hosted.

Question

Why do I get a Crash: COM Error whenever I try to generate a standard Balance Sheet Report from Reports > Company & Financial on Reckon Accounts Hosted?

Answer

Workaround

1.    Edit > Preferences > Reports & Graphs > My Preferences

2.    Tick the checkbox: Prompt me to modify report options before opening a report

3.    Click OK

4.    Generate a Balance Sheet report then close it.

5.    Return to the Reports & Graphs preferences

6.    Untick the checkbox: Prompt me to modify report options before opening a report

7.    Click OK

8.    Generate a Balance Sheet Report – no problems should be encountered.
