New location for the ImportErrors folder

Question

I cannot find the ImportErrors folder in Reckon Accounts 2011/12.  In previous versions it was in C>\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 20xx-xx\.

Answer

In Reckon Accounts 2011/12 the ImportErrors folder has been moved to:

·         Windows 7 & Vista:  C:\ Users\ Public\ Documents\ Intuit\ QuickBooks 2011-12\ ImportErrors

·         Windows XP:  C:\ Documents & Settings\ All Users\ Shared Documents\ Intuit\ QuickBooks\ ImportErrors

 . Windows 10 & 11: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\ImportErrors

The change has been made to cater for the Windows 7 & Vista operating systems that mark the Program Files folder as a protected folder and do not allow users to write to that folder. 

Programs such as Retail Point of Sale will now be able to write their error files.
