Reckon Accounts Hosted does not remember the list of previous company files opened.

Legacy KB ID: 5189

Question

How can I get Reckon Accounts Hosted to remember previous company files opened?  I can only see the current file on the list.

Answer

Rename the QBW.ini file and restart Reckon Accounts Hosted.

The Issue

The QBW.INI file that stores information about previous files opened is corrupt.

Generating a new QBW.INI file will allow Reckon Accounts Hosted to remember previously opened company files again.

Solution

1.    Click on the File menu > Open or Restore a Company file > Open a Company file then click the Next button.

2.    Look on the Q Drive

3.    At the bottom of the window in the Files of Type box, select All Files (*.*)

4.    Look on your Q drive for a file called QBW.INI (type *.INI in the File name: field then press the Enter key on the keyboard)

5.    Put your mouse cursor over the QBW.INI file until that file becomes highlighted and press the F2 key on the keyboard

6.    Rename the file to QBW.INI.OLD

7.    Close the window by clicking on the Red X in the top right

8.    Log out of Accounts Hosted

9.    Wait 15 mins

10. Log back in to the Hosted platform and confirm how many entries are shown on the No Company Open list screen.

11. Open a couple of company files

12. Log out of the Hosted platform.

13. Then log back back in to the Hosted platform to confirm whether the files you had selected to be opened are shown in the No Company Open list screen.

14. If the problem persists and still only a single entry appears in that list screen, then follow the guide below.
