Why doesn’t the Account filter work in the Tax Detail Report?

Answer

This problem will occur when trying to filter for a Tax Payable account when there are 2 or more Tax Payable Accounts in the company file. 

The Account filter isn’t designed to work in the way it is being applied; the Account filter refers to the Income Account with which the Item is associated. 

 

Correct filter method:

Do not filter the Tax Payable account; filter for the Tax Codes used in the desired Tax Payable account. 

To filter for an account

1.    Open the Tax Detail Report

2.    Click on Modify Report then Filters

3.    select Tax Code from the Filters box

4.    Select the tax codes used in the particular Tax Payable account

5.    Memorize the report if desired.
