Net Pay in QuickBooks shows incorrect amount on Review and Create Payment window

Question

Why is Net Pay showing incorrectly on the Review and Create Payment window?

Answer

You will experience this error on employees with Cash as their payment method and ‘Cash pays rounding’ selected in the Payroll and Employees Preferences.

Only the Review and Create Payment window experiences this error.  The pay is processed correctly and payslips show the correct Net Pay. 

Workaround

If the difference between the Net Pay on the Review and Create Payment window is within 3 cents, then assume the calculation is correct and proceed with processing the pays.

Check the Payroll Totals Report and confirm that the rounded amounts appear in the Net Pay column.

If there is an error, then delete that pay and re-enter it.

When all pays are confirmed correct, prepare the cash pays for distribution to employees.
